The CSIO in Barcelona hosted the Nations Cup Final, bringing together the very best of the international show jumping scene. As often, the offspring of stallions from the GFE catalogue stood out — but this time, it was a real tidal wave for KANNAN’s progeny.
Across the four individual ranking classes, three were won by
KANNAN offspring, including a one-two finish in the prestigious Queen’s Cup, while two of his offspring placed in the top eight of the 1.60m Grand Prix!
- Gangster Montdesir (KANNAN x CORNET OBOLENSKY) and Richard Vogel started strong by winning Thursday’s 1.50m class, then claiming another victory the following day in a 1.45m class.
- Kandoo Z (KANNAN x First Mate) and Mégane Moissonnier also had a fantastic weekend: winners of the 1.40m class on Thursday, they followed up with a 4th place in the 1.45m class on Friday and finished 8th in the 1.50m class on Saturday.
- Double Jeu d’Honvault (KANNAN x Cook du Midour) and Grégory Wathelet produced an excellent performance by winning Saturday’s 1.50m class, after already placing 7th in the 1.60m Grand Prix the day before — just behind Kelly (KANNAN x Baloubet du Rouet) and Alberto Marquez Galobardes, who finished 6th!
- Iron Dames Kaleni Jo (KANNAN x Indoctro) and Sophie Hinners took 2nd place in Saturday’s 1.50m class.
- Tikal DZ (KANNAN x Colin d’Or) and Alvaro Zambrano Calzado also confirmed their good form with a 2nd place in Thursday’s 1.30m class and a 7th place in Saturday’s 1.35m class in the CSI1*.
Finally, the Nations Cup Final on Sunday, with its exceptional €1,600,000 prize fund — the highlight of the season — saw two of
KANNAN’s offspring shine: GL Events
Dorai d’Aiguilly (KANNAN x Toulon) and Olivier Perreau for France, and
Jumping Jack van de Kalevallei (KANNAN x Heartbreaker) and Billy Twomey for Ireland, finished 2nd after a brilliant jump-off.
Meanwhile in France, the Jump Bost event drew a large crowd in Fontainebleau, where Alexandre Fontanelle and the talented 8-year-old Haya de Bacon (KANNAN x Kashmir) dominated the field to win the CSI2* Grand Prix.
A top-level weekend for KANNAN, once again confirming his status as a world-class reference, thanks to his talented, consistent, and ever-present offspring in all the biggest competitions!
